Sergeant Major Stanley Kahikina was born and raised in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany
and upon graduating from Munich American High School enlisted in the Army.  As an
infantryman, Sergeant Major Kahikina served at all levels of leadership in a 25-year career.  
Notable in his many assignments are his four tours with the 41st Infantry Regiment where he
served as a rifleman, platoon sergeant, and first sergeant of four companies.  He completed
his final tour with the 41st Infantry as the interim battalion sergeant major before moving to
operations sergeant major duties in the 2d Armored and 1st Cavalry Divisions.  His last active
duty assignment was Chief Enlisted Advisor to the 35th Infantry Division.

As an educator and trainer, Sergeant Major Kahikina performed duties as a drill sergeant at
Fort Benning, Georgia, senior instructor in the Primary Leadership Development Course and
Chief of Training, 3rd Corps Noncommissioned Officer Academy at Fort Hood, Texas, and
ROTC instructor at Penn State University.

Sergeant Major Kahikina is a graduate of the Noncommissioned Officer Academy, the Basic
and Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Courses, the First Sergeant Course, the Battle Staff
Course, and the Sergeants Major Academy. Sergeant Major Kahikina is completing his
Bachelor of Science degree in Administration and Management from Excelsior College.  

Sergeant Major Kahikina joined the JROTC instructor team at Reagan High School in 1997.  
During his eight and a-half years at
Reagan High School, the Battalion was rated the top
program in HISD six times, and the drill team he coached were city champions seven times.
He and his wife Ursula have two daughters, and one granddaughter.

LTC Marshall was commissioned a Second Lieutenant as a Distinguished Military Graduate
from the University of Arkansas Pine Bluff and entered the United States Army on December
17, 1982.  After his initial Officers Basic Training at Fort Lee, Virginia, Marshall was assigned
to the 7th Infantry Division at Fort Ord in Monterey, California.  His subsequent tours over a 22
year military career include: Palmerola, Honduras - Central America; two tours in the
Republic of Korea; Fort Bliss, Texas; Saudi Arabia & Kuwait (During Operation Desert Storm);
U.S. Army Aviation and Troop Command in St Louis, Missouri; 49th Quartermaster Group,
Fort Lee, Virginia; The Republic of Croatia; Headquarters 5th U.S. Army, Fort Sam Houston in
San Antonio, Texas and the 75th Division (Training Support) in Houston, Texas.

He retired after 22 years of active military service and joined the Houston Independent School
District team of JROTC instructors at Jesse H. Jones High School as the Senior Instructor in
November 2004.  In December of 2007,  LTC Marshall was selected for his current position
as the Deputy Director, JROTC Programs for HISD.  

Lieutenant Colonel Marshall earned a Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of
Arkansas Pine Bluff and a Master of Arts Degree in Management at Webster University, St.
Louis, Missouri.  His military education includes the Quartermaster Officers Basic and
Advanced Courses, the Combined Arms and Services Staff School, the Logistics
Management Development Course, the Petroleum Officers Course and the Command and
General Staff College.

He has earned numerous military awards and decorations to include: the Legion of Merit, the
Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, Army
Commendation Medals, Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Parachutist Badge and other
service or achievement citations.

Lieutenant Colonel (Ret) Berlin L. Marshall resides in Sugar Land, Texas with his wife Lora
and four children: Amanda, Asia, John and Winston.  He is a member of the Brookhollow
Baptist Church where he serves as Coordinator of the Ushers Ministry here in Houston.  
Lieutenant Colonel Marshall also has active memberships in several civic and professional
organizations and has been involved in numerous charitable and community service events
in cities he has lived.
The Operations Section updates and distributes curriculum, reference, and training material received from higher headquarters.  
Reviews and corrects weekly training schedules; assures adherence to the program curriculum by conducting visits and
documenting discrepancies; assists in planning, coordinating, and conducting, instructors' in-service, drill meets, rifle matches,
Corps Banquet, Final Review and the Annual Cadet  Summer Camp.
